Butterfly

I got it!  Only thing . . . after waiting for awhile for something to happen, I decided to switch from vertical to horizontal orientation, and when I changed the setup I forgot to plug in my phone and the battery ran out before the butterfly started flapping its wings.  ðŸ¥´

Here's the setup.  Notice the mess pushed aside and Lampchop giving a thumb's up.  ðŸ˜†

So wonderful to watch! And what a set up! I recently bought a selfie/tripod from the Apple Store (probably cheaper on Amazon) that attaches to the back of my phone with a magnet. Very light, can adjust in height, angle, etc. I have the gorilla one which is good but the way it holds the camera isn't great, imo.
The sad thing is, I bought this tripod because I wanted to film our good friend Esther Nowell as she taught classes and put it online somehow. Dang.
If anything, I can use it as a selfie stick even though I don't do selfies.

J, I thought Lamb Chop was the name of the butterfly. When it first emerged it looked so alien especially when the body started elongation. Only when it fully fluffed out it came pretty. How long after did you release it. -N

How in the world can a crawling-only caterpillar turn into a flying butterfly?

Attaches with a magnet! So smart the inventor. Too bad you never got to film Esther. Maybe you can use it to demonstrate your gardening skills.

It really does look so alien to me, especially the body. I put the jar outside not long after and it flew away after a few hours.

I missed it emerging in real life. I turned away for just a little bit and bam it was done. LOL.

The process is just so amazing to me.
