For "fisherman fresh" seafood plate lunches and other ono food you need to go to North Shore Grinds in Palolo. I happened to be there twice the other week at hungry time and scored parking so I got us some grinds.
The mahi mahi was so ono the first time that it got ordered again the next time I was there. The beef stew was so meaty that Landon wondered if it's always like that. The hamburger steak was only okay. Probably wouldn't order it again. Everything else was really good.
Dynamite Ahi Katsu special (white rice/mac salad) $16.00
Herb-crusted Mahi Mahi with Lemon Cream (all tossed salad) $17.95
Chicken Katsu with BBQ horseradish dip (white rice/mac salad) $16.95
Hamburger Steak with Onion Gravy (white rice/mac salad) $16.95
Beef Stew (white rice/mac salad) $17.95
Garlic Calamari with Roasted Pepper Cream (brown rice/Mac salad) $16.95

Wow! Looks onolicious and choke meat in the beef stew!

Yup, over there is ono! Not sure if they still have those punch cards when you buy 10 you get one free. The way you order, you qualify already!
And on the same block - before Hobbietat, got one nother place that sells super fresh fish and food. Azumi's or Azuka's, or something like that. So easy to miss because it has only has one small dinky sign.
J, ooh I am always on the lookout for good beef stew. Ironically I found it at St. Louis Drive inn and the L&L across from them. Except St. Louis's serving is small even for me and L&L is a hit or miss depending on the meat they use and how fresh it is. I don't mind venturing into Palolo Valley to try. - n
everything looked great!
I've been wanting to go back to here and this post convinced me! Boy does this make me miss Your Kitchen though. Not your kitchen Jalna, although I surely wouldn't mind eating the cooking from your kitchen too! LOL
You made me hungry and I just had lunch an hour ago.
By the way, I did write a comment about Flexitol Heel Balm that I use when my heels get bad. I don't see it so it may have gone into your spam box.
Izsmom, Lan was really impressed with the stew and the mahi mahi.
Aunty, I forgot about that fishcake place!
N, Palolo is my old stomping grounds.
Jenny, I miss the Pork Bowl from Your Kitchen!
Kay, I did see your comment and I ordered that Flexitol Heel Balm. It just came today! Looking forward to trying it. Thanks for the scoops!
I recently tried North Shore Grinds and agree the food was ono but pricey for the amount you get. But I guess everywhere is expensive these days.
De, I know what you mean. I'm resigned to the fact that that's how it is nowadays.
