Heart Monitor

This is the heart monitor that I'd been wearing for the last 2 weeks.  It records every single heartbeat.  So amazing.

I'm allergic to patches so I had my doubts about my being able to handle the adhesive, but the cardiologist recommended that I take some antihistamine pills to see if that would help.  It was really itchy the first couple days, but then slowly by slowly the itching stopped, and after awhile I didn't even need the pills.

Now I need to mail the monitor to the mainland where it'll be analyzed and results sent to my doctor.  I'll see him again at the beginning of December.

Intense! Hope it comes out good.

I take my blood pressure every morning on each side, and then again 2 minutes later. I have a steno pad that I record it as well as what I had for lunch and dinner and what therapy I did that day. It is usually kinda high, once in a while super high, and then not.

After much "encouragement" from friends and family, I did go to see my doctor (well, his daughter since he wasn't in that day) and my blood pressure was super super good and I passed all of her tests. How can? She suggested my blood pressure machine might be defective - which would be awesome, but I doubt it. I'll bring it in to the office on my next visit in February.

V, so space age yah!

Aunty, I take my blood pressure daily too. And I keep a log. It used to be low (except when I go doctor's office, where it's usually really high). Now, with my anxiety issues going on, it's kinda on the normal-ish side. Hope your machine is defective and you're actually fine!

Kat, thanks.

Izsmom, I googled "Holter". I think mine was a modern version of that.

Kay, thank you!

N, it's to check on my palpitations. And you can be niele anytime. LOL.

J, yeah I thought that was a form of the Holto monitor that I wore like 40 plus years ago when I was going through my divorce which was a stressful time and I was having palpitations too. Mines was low tech,it was put on my belly, so I wore it for a week and they sent it off to the mainland for review. It showed nothing. But I do have a heart prolapse valve that may have contributed to it? But that was before my hypertension meds, and now that I'm on them they correct the palpitations. So I haven't gotten it since. First and last time I ever got migraines. They were so bad all I could do was lie in bed in a darkened room when I got them. It's just amazing how the body reacts to stress. All of it stopped once I recovered from the situation. The light at the end of the tunnel is that as you adjust to the meds and the situation it will get better. We are resilient to beings and so there's hope at the end. -n
