Aunty, I think the secret to the eyes is to keep the area in the center part of the lid bright. Maybe would work with eye shadow too!

I learned that dabbing white on the inner corner of the eyes and lining the lower inner bottom lid 1/4 to 1/3 in (until the edge of the pupil) brightens up the the eyes from several makeup sessions, especially when photographing. You can really see this in model's faces in fashion mags, headshots, etc.
LOL, if you look at the face as a whole, it's not really noticeable but if you focus at the inner corners of the eyes, it's like, dang!, so white!
