I neva do nothing wrong, but I feel guilty. Let me explain. This is my flash. It's 4 years old. I paid $350 for it . . . I know . . . expensive, but it's worth it. I use it a lot. It broke about a month ago and wouldn't fire at all so I took it into Canon Hawaii. It cost me $115 to fix which includes a 6-month repair warranty.
It worked okay for about a week after the repair, but then started acting up again, so I took it in. The girl said that it looked like a different problem, and did I drop it? I said, "No." She kindly agreed to have it repaired for free since I had just brought it in recently.
I went to pick up the flash today. The same girl helped me. She said that they had to replace a lot of components. She said that it had sustained what looked like impact damage since the recent repair. Whaaaa??? I said, "Huh? Like from being dropped?" She said, "Uhuh." But I didn't drop it. How do you convince somebody that you didn't lie? Now, I feel guilty . . . like I lied. But I didn't. I didn't drop it.

They probably didn't check everything, saw one thing wrong and assumed THAT WAS the problem....just like a car..
I think you're right Didi. But they claimed to have done a thorough inspection of it the first time.
I agree, they probably didn't see it the first time. I dropped my Nikon flash at least 3 time on concrete. Kind of chipped all over, but still working.
I swear that flash just has issues. I wonder what they'll tell me if (when) I take mines in. My other flash has no problems at all! wth? And the EXII was much more expensive!!
Hmmm. That's not fair at all!
Maybe your dog dropped it. :)
That's a lot to get it fixed, so they shouldn't mind fixing it for free, right?
My Mom always told me to do the right thing...then you can live a free life with no regret. So, no worries...just be FREEEE!!! :) XO
You know I'm rough on my gear Erick. Maybe the years of not-so-tender-care had its toll.
I know Les. My much cheaper and older, less fancier 420 EX has never had any problems.
Good advice Cathy!!
I agree that's a lot, Mariko. I guess if it breaks again, I'll get a not-so-fancy cheaper replacement.
No need feel guilty, they probably dropped it before returning it to you the last time. Need a lawyer?
AHAHAHAHA, that's sooo funny Fawn.
