I admit I have an obsessive nature. I've been crocheting like mad and now I have 3 more hats to join my other 2! It's so much fun making um. You guys should try. I found this YouTube video with a really good instructor who explains how to make a baby beanie . . . perfect for beginners like me. The video is at the bottom of this post. It's actually part 1 of 3. You need to go to the sidebar to find the other two parts . . . should you go that far.
Here's my third beanie. It's actually misshappen. I still have a hard time figuring out exactly where I'm supposed to end and start a row, so I ended up adding on stitches where I shouldn't have. You can kinda see it in the back of the beanie where it's droopy.
I bought this bow headband at Pricebusters for $1.50 and attached it to my fourth beanie. Coworker Brandee wants me to make one in a bigger size for her. Funny yah! I had to rush to Pricebusters after work today to see if they had another headband in the same color, and they did . . . only had one brown left.
Here's my latest, the fifth beanie. I bought the flower at Ben Franklin. It's on sale now for 1/2 price. This one was $1.00!! Had smaller ones for only 75 cents. I going try make headbands to attach the flowers to.
I also bought this glue at Ben Franklin. Now this was expensive . . . 10 bucks! But it's da bomb glue. It sticks stuff just like a glue gun. And it drys fast.
So here's the video:
I know you going like make some for yourself now . . . especially you Erick.

Wow Jalna, you're mighty talented! I love your passion for things. I learned to crochet when I was in 4th grade. Your baby beanies are so beautiful! Will make great gifts! I think I will try this out since I have more time in the summer. I love your SU cards too, I do a little stampin' myself : ) Really love your blog...so versatile.
So cute! Tys and my Dad bought very similar beanies from the mainland for Ailey. Tys said he spent like $30 or so. How do you have the time to crochet, take pictures, bake, etc?! Busy bee!!!
Go Erick, Go! I like see when you finish!!
Keep up the good work Jalna...pretty soon you'll be making those cute ones with the long ear thingys! :)
very cute.. like the little button flower. Now you gotta get live models for the beanies instead of the hat stand..
cool!
I like pink one.
I would love to learn how to crochet...however looks complicated to me. I will have to watch some youtubes when I get home.
Hahahah Susan I know, I go nuts when I get into something. Except for photography though, it's usually short lived.
30 bucks Jamie! Must be really nice ones. I've seen ones that are so way out of my league.
Ohhh Les, I wish I could make the kine with the ear things!
So funny Shun Wah, I do need live models instead of a ketchup dispenser.
Thanks Kat!
Okay Erick, I going put one flower on yours too.
It's not complicated Betty. Except for the trim on one of the hats, everything was done with single crochet. Try watch the video. The instructor is veeery good.
OMG !!! See no wonder Babies R Us ran out !!
Cute yah Didi!
I like all-of-em
Are you thinking about selling them?
Thanks Mmiissee. No, not selling. I'm stilling having quality control issues. Some parts of the hat are coming out weird and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. It's okay to take pictures with 'cause I can hide the ugly parts, but not worthy to sell. If I ever get it right, and if I make extra, I could sell. Would probably be cheap . . . maybe 5 to 10 bucks.
