I went to check out the winners of the photo contest after work today. 25 winners were selected from over 500 entries. I WAS NOT ONE OF THEM!!
This is the 1st-place winner: Banyan Swings by Lincoln Ishii. I love this shot. He soooo deserved to win.
Here's Lincoln. Unfortunately, I was too lazy to attach my flash so he came out too dark. I don't know why I do that. I lugged the flash with me, I should've used it. I hate it when I do stuff like that.High school sophomore Darcie Buduan from Maui took second place. I repeat: HIGH SCHOOL SOPHOMORE!!
Gregory Helm, Jr. from Molokai took 3rd place.
AAAAAANNND . . . my photog buddy, Erick Tsukiyama took honorable mention with "Perfect Day to Fly a Kite". I am so happy for him . . . NOOOOOOOTTTTTT . . . I am sooooo jealous!!! Wait 'til next year, Erick!!!

hey, that's not the picture of Erick I was expecting!!! hahaha!!
shoulda submitted your yesterday's photos.
My kite photo wasn't my best shot, but it represented the year's contest theme. All I can say is Jellos is best served chilled. Better luck next year and you forgot the sticking tongue? Ha, ha. Jalna, Susie and CD thanks for coming, it won't have been as much fun with out my photog buddies.
So glad you behaved!!!Hahaha
Ron, that is hilarious!!
Shaddup Erick, that's like Tiger Woods saying, "That wasn't my A game." You deserve one crack for that. Wait 'til I see you again.
I'm so sorry you didn't make it. Maybe next time, huh. Congratulation to Erik!
Your photos are excellent. Thanks for the nice commentary. My shot was at 135mm, f/4, 1/200, ISO 640, Canon 5D/70-200 combo.
There were many great photos there and I feel very fortunate to have won. Were you shooting with a 5D, no flash? Was nice to see EOH members there, we took an EOH group shot and I haven't seen it yet.

Thanks Betty! Hopefully, next time.
Ahhhh, Lincoln, nice setup. I'm surprised that 1/200 was fast enough to catch the action so cleanly. Well done! It was a 5D I was using, and I actually didn't use my flash 'cause I was afraid of the reflection it might've produced coming off of the glass over the photos. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Was this the "perfect day" contest ???
Didi, yes it was the "perfect day" contest.
