After art class last week Erick and I went to AGU for some ramen. I had the citrusy Jidori Yuzu ($14.25!). It's my favorite . . . but . . . ho da price!
Erick had the Tonkotsu Miso ($16.50!!) . . . more worse da price.
We shared an order of gyoza ($5.50). I had planned to treat, but after I saw the prices I changed my mind. Erick musta thought the same thing because he neva treat either. Hahahaha. I thought this was funny. Try guess whose chopstick wrapper is whose.
j: I ate there and it was so pricey and the portions were so small. I'm a big eater I had to grab some more food later on. And it wasn't that good, not $14 worth of good. My friend's ramen shop near here makes way better for $10 + free gyoza after 2 pm. And she offers like banchan style if you eat there. No, I was very very disappointed, no wonder they advertise so much in Honolulu magazine -N
Ha ha! Erick is one smart and neat man. Ramen looks ono but $10 too high for me. I went to one Japanese izakaya place on the 2nd floor in that shopping/restaurant building on Kapiolani/McCully that has Taco Bell on Saturday after Ala Wai ceramics class (we walked over). It is on the opposite end of Fook Yuen (yeah, I know, same to you, lol!)
Not sure what the name was but had "Koi" in it. We had the teishoku special for $15.99 and was ono, and for the same price, had a ramen special with gyoza and chicken karaage that the lady sitting behind us said was "oishii". At night I think it turns into a bar. Oishii! and better to go Dutch.
OMG! DA Price! I just buy my 4 pack of Ramin Noodles at da .99 Cent store and insert my own stuffs at home! I even do Steak and Egg Drop! Long onions Chopped. Red onion. Love it! I can't believe how high the eating out prices have become in Honolulu!
And I have never seen one with corn in it! WTH>?!! Who dreamed that one up? Some new Haole Punk from da Mainland! ; ) ....LOL!
j: Ohana Ramen, small ramen shop run by husband and wife. $10 or less can get you the whole set: noodles, fried rice and gyoza or curry instead of noodles. Different kind soups. Everything and I mean everything is hand made like the garlic chips. Her husband does the cooking. It's out here in Royal Kunia, the shopping center below Times. I talked to her about raising her prices but she doesn't want to, she gets loyal customers and many have kids. They're good people. -N

I love ramen but I don’t think I can with those prices 😓. Lol, for some reason I thought yours was the one on the right!
