Chet, haven't been to Vegas in years, but if I ever go again, hope I remember about the butterfish.
Wow!. I must try.
Ho - expensive! But looks supah ono.
I get mine (5 lb minimum) from Okuhara Foods in Kalihi, sorta across from Tamashiro Market. Last time it was $11/lb. Weird shaped pieces - was told that optimized the soaking - using several different kinds of miso from Japan. Comes in a thick plastic bag. We grill ours after wiping off the excess miso. Can also broil. Or, one of the owners told me he microwaves it!
I love butterfish.
Mmiissee, expensive but ono.
Thanks Aunty! I'll let Landon know.
Looks awesome!
Here in San Diego, my idea of good fish is a Mexican Fish Taco! YUM!
I can get them all day long for just $0.99 cents.
And did you know that Tuesday is National Taco Day>?!! Seriously! Who knew?
Rubio's invented them in 1983. They used to have them for $0.99 cents but now they have raised the price. On Tuesday's they are discounted to $1.75 for the regular. And $2 bucks for the Especial, with added guacamole and cheese. Still a great deal. Their batter is great! Here is what they look like at the link.

Mark, I can't believe how cheap tacos are there.
Hi, just got back from China and saw this. yup, this is my favorite miso butterfish. My shipyard office used to be practically accross the street so was easy to pick some up.
What I usually do is throw more fish, like salmon in the miso since there is so much miso left over. Been wondering how chicken or pork would taste in it too.

I've never seen that here. I did try a butterfish dish at Roy's once but it wasn't with miso. It has to be good for that price : ).
Good idea, V!!
Susan, I know what you mean . . . so expensive it had better be good, yah!
One of my favorite things. I need to try this.
My cousin got us some of that and it really was amazing!
We went to Teishoku in Kalihi and loved that too.
