We're experiencing king tide right now. This is what the marina near my house looked like yesterday afternoon. Usually the level is a few feet lower. Wikipedia says that king tides are "simply the very highest tides" and are naturally occurring predictable events. Landon said it's supposed to get even higher tomorrow.
My best friend lives on Spinnaker Isle, right on the marina. In fact, had dinner with him and his wife 2 months ago at their home. Had lunch at the Elk Club yesterday, the tide was pretty high. Hope it doesn't do any damage to your property.
j: I've been watching the king tides with interest. It's suppose to peak today after 5 pm. I wonder if the Waikiki hotels will get flooded since they're below the water table. I worked at a hotel right across Waikiki Beach and on normal days we had seawater seeping up thru our underground garage, also covered with sand. And they had a pump going 24/7 to pump the seawater out. Mother Nature gets her way. -N
Nice shot. Guess what Jalna? I can see my old Penthouse condo in the background.
It's the tall red roofed condo building called The Heritage House. And my penthouse was 2nd from the far left side. The condo was originally owned by one of the Society of Seven singers.
I loved living there with my Koko Head and ocean view. And the cool winds blew down over Mariners Ridge. After I got married Dec. 1984 I bought a house way up top on Mariners Ridge. On Kalihiwai Place. With views to Molokai. At night I could see the light from the Kalaupapa light house. I miss Hawaii and the good old days!

Waikiki is having a tough time with the king tides, hunh? Actually I want to go see it, but Art doesn't want to fight traffic to go into town.

Aunty, today had some people across the marina checking out their docks.
Wasn't too bad today, Les. I get one update picture on tomorrow's blog post.
