If that's a citrus tree, we get those same eggs. They lay eggs on our orange tree. Our 2 year old son raises them and they become pretty citrus swallowtail butterflies. The caterpillars love to eat tender orange, lemon, or lime leaves. :) -L
Cool! I thought it looked like our kind of tree/egg. We get better survival rates when we let it hatch on the tree then move the caterpillar to a jar later. I'm sure you'll get more eggs again now that they know your tree is there. We can watch the butterflies laying eggs on our tree from our living room window. About every other week we get an egg. If you want to read more about them, try Googling Papilio xuthus hawaii. :) -L

I don't think caterpillars lay eggs - but this looks familiar. Maybe spider or mite egg? Or fertilizer pellet?
Good luck. Maybe it is a magic fairy egg.

interesting!
Aunty, when I checked this morning, it looked brown and almost dried out. I cut the leaves and put in a jar anyway. We'll see.
L, it is a lemon tree!
N, I think the egg dried up, but I did put it in a jar.
It is yah, Kat.
