There is a fairly new eating place in Hawaii Kai called BYO Bowls. The one and only time I walked into the place I just got a lemonade and took these photos. Landon did bring home bowls from here a few times and they were good.
The concept is kinda like Pieology but instead of pizzas you build your own bowl.
You start with a rice, a noodle or greens, and then you add to it.
Here are suggestions for people like me who are not too creative.
j: talk about me being futless!I went to a taco place and they had so many choices I spent over 5 minutes reading the menu. It was a high Yelp rated place and very authentic, i.e. Mexican terms I don't even know. I was the only one so they were literally hanging on my every word (talk about nervous) and the owner had to explain most of the menu for me. Owner and his mom were very kind so I felt okay. Obviously this was NOT Taco Bell! I got nervous so I ordered something that sorta seemed like what I wanted and then spent the time reading the menu over and over again, still not knowing what everything was. A bit nerve racking just for food. Don't think I'll be stepping in BYO Bowls any time soon! -N
Looks like a nice place. But I am just shocked at the high prices at Hawaii restaurants these days. I can only think that it's the rising rent cost that is causing this.

wow, lots of choices!
Looks interesting, very interesting. Hmmm. Maybe the next time I'm in Hawaii Kai.
It's sister restaurant is Teddy's Bigger Burgers.

Totally, Kat!
Good idea yah, Aunty.
Ohhh, interesting, Myko!
That's the going rate around here, Mark.
Interesting! So, do they cook it all up for you at the end like Momgolian BBQ style ?
I'm not too sure how it works, Susan.
Cool restaurant! I hope they open one in town.
Looks good....need to make an attempt to take a trip down there.
Oh gee.. You're making me hungry again.
If it does well, they probably will, Erick.
My son likes the poke bowl, Mmiissee.

So many choices - I gotta go!
