Went to Costco today for just a few items. While walking to the exit, I kept looking in my wagon and kinda couldn't believe the meagerness of items that close to $60 of my hard-earned money had purchased. The most expensive thing was the 6 pounds of hamburger meat that cost $21.29. My mom said that back in the 60's when we were kids, hamburger was 3 pounds for $1. She said that for that $1 she could feed us for days. And guess what . . . rent for our 2-bedroom house in Palolo Valley was $35 a month.

Wow, $35 a month. I spend 3 times more on gas every month.
Isn't that amazing!
you gotta stop buying those Vanity Fair magazines. They're running you broke. You're supposed to be stealing them from Dr. Kuge's office instead :)
I can hardly believe it when I walk out of the grocery store with 3 bags and spent $60...when I was married the 1st time and went to the commissory for the 1st time, I spent $15 for groceries which was enough for meals for at least 2 weeks...now $15 would barely be enough for one meal...
March right back there and return that taegu ! haha. That and the magazine is too much money. Just read the magazing in the store while you are waiting in line :O)
You could of bought a rib roast at that price :)
I do know how things add up by just pu a few items at longs..
take heart we are all feeling the pinch.
Hey Les, I couldn't wait until my next doctor visit . . . hahaha! And that Vanity Fair was only $3.50 compared to $5 normally.
Betty, it makes me wonder if I'll ever be able to retire.
Ahahaha Anon, but that taegu is an important ingredient in the Taegu Ocean Salad Linguine that I'm gonna make. And that magazine . . . I just love the photos . . .
have you tried homemade taegu ?
You can cheat and use dried cuttlefish, its just seasoned with corn syrup, sesame seed oil and ko cho jung :)
The korean markets sell bags of cuttlefish just for making this.
Sheeshhhh......but I see Tageu...its all good...
Whaaa . . . Anon? Homemade taegu? Never thought to do that. Sounds easy enough too. Hmmmm . . .
Didi, the taegu was $9.69 for a pound. Is that a good price or what?
