Wendell found this recipe in the Honolulu Advertiser last month. It's rare that I'm home early enough from work to catch him in action preparing dinner, but I lucked out this time.
First prepare noodles.
Brown about a pound of beef strips. Add a mixture of 1/3 c. shoyu, 1/3 c. vinegar and 1/3 c. beef broth. Simmer over medium-low heat for 20 minutes to reduce. Add salt and pepper as desired.
Add some sliced mushrooms . . .
and sauteed onions.
Just before serving, add about one cup of sour cream.
Betty, you shoulda seen us. He wasn't about to slow down or position himself or the food like how I wanted so I just had to click, click, click and quickly take whatever shots I could.
Yup Les, I knew better than to say, "Wait, can you angle the spoon more?" or "Can you pour the mushrooms more slowly?" or "Can you move more to your right, you're in my way?" But I wanted to.
I thought vinegar was a strange ingredient too. But was good.
Hi josefina! Wendell and Landon both said that they can kinda taste the vinegar. I couldn't . . . my palate is not as refined as theirs. The meat was tender, but Wendell said that it could be because he used top sirloin which is already pretty tender.
I made this on saturday...I couldn't believe I forgot the beef broth and I just realized I never added enough sour cream. It was so tangy because of the vinegar. I'm a terrible cook.

Funny mmiissee!
was the beef extra tender because of the vinegar? Could you taste it?

Oooohhh! Beef stroganoff is one of Kelli's favorite meals! I'll try this recipe one day.
Don't forget to post it on your blog if you make it. You're such a great cook, I'm curious to see how yours turns out.
