Opening Ceremony for the Special Olympics Summer Games was held tonight at the Murakami Stadium at UH. Competitions will be held in Powerlifting, Softball, Swimming and Track and Field this weekend.
do u know if there was a parade/run through kapahulu prior to ending up at UH? we were having dinner at good to grill when all of a sudden, there was like a ton of cops and a helicopter and a lot of people running through kapahulu! great pics!
Rand, the Troy Barboza torch run goes through Waikiki and Kapahulu before ending up at the UH stadium.
Thanks Erick. I got that ONE usable shot of the torch. All the photographers kept getting in my way! Thanks for convincing me to go the opening ceremony.
Cool! you managed to get the flame carrier before they were 'attacked' by the photogs. I think I recognized some of the atheletes from last year and and at the winter olympics. It was so FUN shooting with you..your shots came out great!!
