I just love everything about weddings . . . the gowns, the flowers, the emotion . . . everything. So when Jingjing e-mailed me and asked if I could help with the photography, I jumped at the chance. It was held on the beach in Kahala, and I was worried that we might get rained on, but it turned out to be a perfect day with barely a cloud in the sky.
great pictures ;-) like i said, the phone must be ringing off da hook! jalna! i NEED u for my wedding!!! i'm glad the weather cooperated; not only so that getting the right exposure wouldn't be a problem but also cuz i wouldn't want to have a single drop of water fall on your L lens! do u always shoot with a hood? a filter? for this shoot, with the bright sunshine, did u use a hood and filter? omedetooo!
Beautiful day for a beautiful wedding. Those bubbles came out really cool. Did you use a polarizer for these shots? the blue sky is soooo blue! Great shots!
Thanks Rand! For me, this was a veeeery challenging shoot. I try to avoid taking pictures in bright sunlight because it leaves awful shadows, but for this wedding there was no choice. I used two lenses, 70-200mm f4 (w/hood) and 35mm (w/polarizing filter). Then I zapped with a lot of flash to cut out the shadows . . . not easy with the varying distances . . . I had to think, think, think.
Thanks Shun Wah. I like that bubble shot too. You know what I think really helps with the blue sky is the vibrance slider in Photoshop (not my picture taking "skill").
Thanks Celia!
Thanks Hiromi! They were a really handsome couple.
Thanks Les. These hard shoots are the real classroom for learning.
