Masks adorned the walls in the lounge at the East West Center Gallery. They looked like a representation of different parts of the Pacific. I loved the colors. There were more masks than I have here, but I didn't want to disturb a girl who was studying there.
thanks for today

oh da cuuute! I love that kind stuff!
I nevah know dat.
nice pictures ;-) there are lots of places on campus that are photo-worthy; of course, that little garden behind the EW center's pretty nice, too; the art gallery in the art building is a terrific place where they seem to change stuff on a monthly basis; in fact, if they haven't changed to something else, the gallery now has some dolls on display...
Very cool! I wish I took more pictures of the masks. There were too many tables and chairs for my tripod. Nice shooting!
These are awesome! Great photos!!
Rand, I've been there before taking pictures around the campus. Didn't know the art building had a gallery.
Erick, I did feel small-kine like I was disturbing the peace in there.
Thanks Betty!
oh, they do! i often take my daughter to the art department on the weekend and we always check out the gallery ;-) i love the way they keep changing stuff; check it out here: http://www.hawaii.edu/artgallery/
that place alone would keep your camera busy!
Rand, thanks for the link. I'll go check them out one of these Sundays.
Beautiful! I like Chinese mask. Very colorful. Nohmen (Japanese one) is very sophisticated but always scares me.
Thanks Hiromi. I know what you mean . . . when I was little that face used to scare me too.
