I asked my family to send me a photo of their three favorite knives. I was just curious.
The first set is mine. Because of my lack of knife skills, my third fave is scissors. LOL.
This is Wendell's. Sashimi, bread and general.
Cy and his wife use the knife on the left. My mom's on the right.
I think Sweetie said meat on the left, sashimi in the middle and tomatoes on the right. I like her arrangement the best . . . so artistic.
These are Geri's. She makes good bread, so must use the knife on the left a lot.
Here are chef extraordinaire Didi's.

interesting how Didi's is all non Japan knives and she's the "professional" cook! Hmmmm, are we being fooled by the Japan knife hype?
I use the global brand that Cy and his wife uses! so sharp!

I was thinking that Didi's look tried and true. LOL.
Did you buy your Global knives in Japan? I see that Amazon sells them, but I no trust. I swear the Oofos slippers I got from Amazon once were counterfeit.
Ho! Can tell you are a family of great cooks. I use cheap knives and get a new one (from Costco) when they get junk.
J, I got knives but they're dull. Got to sharpen all the time, but never sharp enough. I watch carving videos and they always have super sharp knives that cut like it's butter. I want :( N
Yah, I bought the Global knives in Japan. They have 2 types, one exclusively sold in Japan and one they sell worldwide like on Amazon. I think the Japan line has a different edge, like sharpened on 2 sides, but I'm not that good of a cook to know any different, just that it cuts so well.

My mom’s favorite was a Mac knife too.

so cool to see everyone’s knives!
I have a good set of Forschner & Henkel kniives.
😁
If you look at the picture of Sweetie's knives, there is a Victorinox knife sharpener on the top that she found at the swap meet. She likes it a lot so I've been looking for one for me. LOL.
I like one now.
That was the fave back then yah.
I thought was so interesting.
I had to google "Forschner". It's Swiss! Must be good.
