There was a day last week (or so) when all us sistahs were free so we went to our favorite filipino food place, Elena's in Waipahu.
Fried Pork ($15.99)
Shrimp Sarciado ($16.99)
Sari Sari ($15.99)
Lechon Special ($15.99)
Pork Adobo Fried Rice Omelette ($14.99)
We also went to one sistah's working place and saw a monarch butterfly with no antennae.
We visited Ani's Bakery.
And we had some Waiola shave ice. Everybody else had a small; mine was a LARGE strawberry/melona with vanilla ice cream and mochi balls ($7.00).

hooo boy, I've been wanting to go to Elena's for the longest time but afraid of the traffic. If no traffic, I call in my order and by the time I get there from town, perfect. But if stuck in traffic, especially on the way back, I want to stop in the middle of the freeway and eat....the aroma is killahs!

Omigosh! All looks delicious. How fun to spend the day with your sisters.
But the prices on the fruit cake and pie! Expensive!
Happy New Year!

sounds like a great day!
Great day of eats and treats!
J, aww about the poor butterfly, what'd you do with it. Pie and cake sooo expensive at bakeries. On sale Honolulu pie co. Was $29 for one apple pie. I checked out Epi-ya and sold out at $30 for apple pie. Slice was $5? for Fuji apple but was all damaged, hamajang. Stores get the cheap mainland kine but junk. Though I think your shave ice with all the fixings is cheap. I had one job where they actually had a shave ice maker, old style with all the syrups. I ate shave ice daily, got tired of it. Happy New Year, it's our year, the year of da Snake. -N
We used to go almost every week when they had the one in Kalihi. Miss it.
I couldn't believe how expensive that fruit cake and pie was.
Was!
Enjoyed the eats and treats! LOL.
Butterfly got put on a bush. I could eat a shave ice a day. LOL.
