A few days ago Wendell and I went to Pioneer Saloon for lunch. I forgot to mention the limited parking on my previous post. Luckily, it doesn't bother Wendell at all and sure enough, he had no problems finding street parking for his big truck.

Wendell got the Tonkatsu ($11). He said it was good.

I got the Deep Fried Calamari Legs ($11). It was just awright. I shoulda got the Butterfish.

what time did you go? Place looks empty in your pictures. Was packed when I went about 12pm but I had called in my order so was ready. Want to try other stuff, like the miso butterfish you rave about :) I wonder if I could tell them no salad and 2 scoops rice? oink

V, it was between mealtimes . . . I think around 2:00ish. And you're right . . . no need that pasta salad.
Yes,parking can be an issue there, but if the product is good, people will go no matter. Case on point,Leonard Malasadas. Parking is bad,but the lines are long.Sometimes, you need that window when traffic is slow, Bingo!
yummy, wonder if you could ask for green salad?!
Fried squid legs seems to be my go to order when I go to a Japanese restaurant too.
Chet, it's so amazing how popular certain places are with the Japanese tourists.
Kat, I wonder.
Susan, I like them too.
