I went to Times in Kahala yesterday and was surprised to see Bakery & Table in the old Saint-Germain spot.
I only look some quick shots because I was with Wendell and . . . you know . . . "time waits for no man".

Oh, my! Any samples? Gotta have samples if they just opened. Even the old Delight Bakery had samples all the time.
j: you lucky it's close to you. I love this french bread looking thing (fancy french name) and if eaten on the same day it kind of has a taste of the oven which tastes good. But after the first day it's regular bread tasting. The one thing good is that's its not sugary sweet like American pasteries. I tried their sandwiches but they'are kind of meh. -N
I had the curry pan for breakfast today. Had half a boiled egg inside the middle. I also like their menatiko potato one! -L

D! I totally forgot how I used to love the Monte Cristo from the restaurant that used to be across Kahala Mall on Waialae (I forget the name and now it's gonna bother me).

Looks very nice Jalna! Looks like Kahala Mall has gone very upscale and more modern now.
Remember I told you long ago that when I was a little kid in the early 1960's there was no Kahala Mall. It was just a Huge parking lot with Times Market on da Ewa side and Longs on da Koko Head side. With a very long covered walkway between the two stores to protect from the rain.
We were told at that time that one day a new Shopping MALL would be built here. We had no idea what that was because we had never seen a shopping mall before.
Bank of Hawaii at Kahala Mall (the big round building) was where I started my first bank account ever in 4th grade at Kahala Elementary. Our teacher wanted to teach us how to save money. So we did a class excursion to walk over to BOH with our coins, to all of us kids start our very first savings bank account! I was so Proud! That was 1965.
I wish I could remember that teachers name! One of my most favorite Teachers ever!
My favorite Teacher though really was Mrs. Nekota, 5th and 6th grade at Kahala Elementary. She was like my second Mom! And always took care of me to make sure I was OK. She nominated me for Captain of the Junior Police Officer road guards.
I got to see Mrs. Nekota in the early 1980's when she and her husband came furniture shopping in our Marsh Company on Dillingham BLVD. Now how fun is that?!! To see your favorite teacher once I became an adult and had a good job! I thanked her for all of her help she gave me when I was young! Very Special day I will never forget!

No, Dd, wasn't Jolly Roger. If you're heading out to town, it was the restaurant before the beauty shop where I used to work. Oh, oh, I just remembered something . . . you know the Chinese restaurant where we went a few times? I think maybe the Chinese restaurant took over the place.
