About a week ago Landon went to Guava Smoked in Kalihi just before closing time and found the guy there already packing up. The guy apologized profusely about the premature closing and gave Lan some chicken and a bag of fried rice . . . for free!
Although Landon had actually gone there in hopes of picking up some smoked fish he gave the guy $20 anyway.
I tasted a bit of the fried rice and it was very flavorful . . . really smoky. Lan shared the food with a bunch of people. I'm sure they enjoyed it.

Score! I love fried rice.
Aww, the guy and your son, so nice! Glad I had my bbq fix this past weekend or I'd be craving!
The Chicken looks onolicious and the fried rice looks like get plenty flavor, only thing the rice looks too "beta beta" (sticky) to me.

Kalihi has some many hidden gems to eat. I like Pongo's Kitchen and Ethel's Grill. Love the hole in the walls.
Mich, I think Len would like it!
Aunty, total score yah.
LOL, Susan.
Izsmom, the fried rice had big chunks of meat in it and was only small-kine beta beta.
Chet, I went to Ethel's Grill only one time a long time ago and it was good. Never been to Pongo's Kitchen. I just checked out their menu . . . looks good!
