Nothing to blog about so here's a picture of Wendell's Extra Large Wun Ton Min ($13) that he ordered at Sekiya's the other night. Sekiya's saimin is my faaaaavorite samin.
We used to eat here ALL THE TIME when I was going to UH and then living in the neighborhood after I graduated. It's been such a long time since I've been there. Now you make me want to back one more time.
$13 now!?!?? Ho, da expensive. It is good though, with their hot mustard that clears the sinuses. Kinda salty though because I feel it in my hands the next day.
Just remember - do NOT order their beef tomato. Horrors because it tastes like it has the saimin broth in it.
Wun Ton Min was always a favorite for me! Sunday nights after church on Judd Street in the 1960's, Dad would stop at Chun Hoon for it. Cold rainy winter nights were the most fun! We would sit in the car to eat because it was only a walk up window and no place to sit outside. We would sit and talk and the hot Wun Ton Min would fog up the windows. I bet the big paper bowl cost $1.00 Dollah or less.
