Here's my still life painting from the last class. I totally cheated and did most of my sketching ahead of time at home. I didn't want to waste valuable class time drawing . . . takes me forever to draw. This way I could take my time painting . . . and getting instruction . . . which is where I need the most help anyway.

Wow! I love it! You should frame it. You are talented.
j: I love your stuff - I would buy it! Which is saying a lot cuz I knew two painters - well more, but these were my friends - and one was in an artist guild and I did not like any of her paintings. I couldn't tell her that but man her stuff was ugly. Another one, gawd his art work was the worse, it was hideous. Couldn't draw a decent pear and apple but friends would request it. He decorated his house w/ his paintings and his house was gorgeous but the artwork, I wanted to vomit. So art is subjective and to the painter but I love YOUR stuff. -N P.S. all this painting is getting serious, no?
Susan, cute yah. Only the design on the taller cup exists in real life. The teapot and teacup are from two other sets, but it was easier for me to keep the pattern the same on all.
I feel the same about you, Kay.
N, you always totally crack me up! And you're right about "getting serious". In class, I feel I need to be "serious" about learning technique, but I hope to actually keep my artwork light and not so perfect. I like that painting keeps me busy now that I'm retired, but I often wonder how long I'll stay interested. You know me . . . sometimes I can be so gung ho about something and then suddenly . . . BAM, I'm done.
