Watercolor Class
Class is intimidating. Very talented, seasoned students take up over half of the class. The rest of us . . . me, Honolulu Aunty, aunty's friend Wanda-ful, my pals Erick the Photog and Fran . . . make up the rest of the class, and we're beginners.
At the end of each class, we hang our painting up on the wall and are critiqued . . . gulp.
For our class last week, we went outside to sketch and paint. Well . . . everybody else did. Me? I took a picture and went back into the comfort of the air-conditioned room.
Here's my painting. It's not finished, but I'm pau working on it. I inked the outlines at home . . . not sure if outlining is allowed. Maybe I'll go back to finishing it up someday.

j: Critique?? A beginner's class?? Totally not cool. My view is taking these classes are a way to ENJOY and find your creative juices, stretch them out so to speak and find your own groove. Art is just so personal to the person and to have it reviewed is the total opposite of what art should be. I get if it's like something you take in college or school where you get graded, but this type of class, no way jose. Defeats the purpose. I commend you for doing your own thing and doing what you like. Get the instructions and your choice to be structured or not. If he/she no like lines, well too bad. What they going do? Flunk you? Give you a F? Charge you moe money? We ain't in high school no moe. ha! -N
is this near the Ala Wai Clubhouse ?? Looks like it to me ?? T I G ??
Aww, thanks Kat.
Yah, Susan, I almost wasn't gonna put mine up, but Erick "encouraged" me to.
Thanks Izsmom.
N, maybe "critique" wasn't the right word . . . maybe more like "advised".
It is, Dd.
Ha! YOU da one that made me think of doing this class - though that medium is really difficult for me. Cannot erase or cover up!
Your outdoor scene looks good! Glad I wasn't there for that class, lol.

LOL, Aunty . . . I know . . . my fault! I'm planning on sketching my still life ahead of time so I don't pressure out in class.
Very true, Squidy.
Dd, behind the tree is the rest "E R". I think it's a McKinley High canoe.
I think i'd flunk out of that class...

It turned out awesome. I think you can do whatever you want. I really like the ink outline. Good job!
