Here are a few photos from today. We visited Daio Wasabi Farm and choke other places. The ono mochi stick with miso sauce is from Kami Sannomachi in Takayama. Sweetie and new friend Yuki are soaking their feet at a rest stop between Nagano and Takayama.

your tour sounds nice!
It really is a great tour, Kat. We're traveling far and visiting many places.
Did the soaking the feet in water have any special meaning or just for tired feet? Minerals or significance?
those mochi sticks are good yah? I've had um all over the place and never had a bad one. Those foot baths are awesome too! The one I used in Fukuoka was super hot though. I only lasted a few seconds at a time :| I can't wait to see your "real" posts!!!
j: how much was the wasabi, did you get some (can you bring it into Hawaii?) what are they soaking their feet in? -N
Mich, the water did contain minerals and according to Sweetie it felt of different temperatures when you placed your feet in different areas.
Les, I had just eaten another stick at the previous place we were at too! The other one had a piece of nori with a more savory sauce. Oink. Oink.
N, the wasabi ranged in price from $5 to $20 depending on the grade. We didn't buy any because they advised us that it wouldn't stand up to the journey. The foot soaking water contained several different minerals. I actually didn't use it because I didn't want to take the time to remove my shoes. I'm not exactly a relaxed person when with a tour group because I overly worry about being the last one back on the bus.
I'm so jealous! I can't wait for us to go to Japan!
Did you try the wasabi ice cream?
Your turn is pretty soon, Akemi.
No I didn't Anon. Mostly everybody else did, but I was still full from breakfast.
Jalna, too bad you weren't able to squeeze in a visit to the Kihara family in Nagano while you were there.
Oh Phyllis, I didn't realize they're in Nagano. Are they our dads' cousins?
Yes, our dads' cousins. I have visited them with my dad and Aunty Mabel once, and again with my dad another time.
I'm glad you got to meet them for us, Phyllis.
A wasabi farm? Now that is very interesting and different.
