Riusuke Fukahori
Happy New Year!! Where in the world did all that wind and rain come from last night? And now it's totally gone. Whatda?
It seems like I've gotten lazy to blog . . . again . . . but we'll just go with the flow and see what happens, yah.
I wanted to share this artwork by Riusuke Fukahori. It is a painting in resin. Imagine this . . . the artist pours a thin layer of resin, lets it dry and paints. He pours another thin layer of resin and repeats . . . layer upon layer upon layer.
I think it's soo amaaaaaazing!! You can find out more here.

saw this on tv before, cool yeah?!
Talk about patience yah, Kat!
I wonder how much something like this costs.
Me too, Susan!!
Amaaaaaaazing! Looks so real!
I saw this on Japanese TV program and it was impressive. Very real, beautiful and original! I wonder where he got this idea.
I know, Taryn!
I wish I could see more of him in action, Akemi.
I remember my brother doing something like this during his art class at UH a LONG time ago. It didn't look anything like this though. Very impressive.
A long time ago, Kay? Wow. Never knew about the technique until now.
I emailed the Joshua Liner Gallery to see if they had any of his pieces for sale. Unfortunately, they only have a painting named "Tonight" and it's 20x25 inches and priced at $9,500....
OMG, Taryn. And to think that he was once a down and out artist with no direction until he thought of doing goldfish in resin. WOW.
