I got me an iPad mini with xmas/photo gig money. I'm thinking I could use it when me and Sweetie go to Japan in the spring. YES, YES!! Japan In The Spring!! Yeehaw!! One of the first things I noticed was that my photos are too big for my iPad. Almost a third of the photo is chopped off on the right.
This is the full picture.
I checked my stats and it shows that a good number of people who read my blog do so from a small-screened device. So starting from this post, I'm gonna try and make the photos a little smaller. It might take a little tweaking, but hopefully I'll be able to get it right soon.
I keep my photos to under 200 kb so people have an easier upload time. I've noticed that some blogs take extra long to upload. I haven't had problems with yours though.
J: how awesome you're going to Japan. What areas are you going to? Tour or you're gonna go solo. Is it right that your hyotan got 5K hits? wow. I'm on a laptop so the size really doesn't matter ;) - N
I always meant to ask you about the partial picture, I swear I could see the whole thing before on my iPad then one day, I could only see partial. After a while, i just got used to to it. I didn't know your stats shows you the kind of devices looking in on you. I learned something today.
You going Japan too, Jenny!! I'm excited for you! No, no particular festival. It'll be our first time to see cherry blossoms, though.
I downsize all my photos to under 1 mb for faster upload, but the length and width were too big.
N, we're going to the coastal/rural areas extending across a sizable area. I'm not sure about wifi access in some of those areas so blogging is questionable. The 5K is not just for the hyotan recipe. It's for an accumulation of posts.
Thanks Kat.
Thank you, Akemi.
Thanks, CT.
Mark, "new school" is intimidating to me. I had somebody at the Apple Store help me set up the iPad. Still, I was sweating.

Wow, never realized the size difference when I went on from my phone, ipad, or computer. Also neat how it breaks it down for you!
When I first looked at the pictures on my iPad I was like "Whoa!" so huge looking. And yah, the stats are pretty amazing.
Ohhh fancy! And ipad mini! I love mine too. And and and! I am planning to go to Japan in the Spring too! Were you going to check out a festival?

I'm old school. I don't even have a smart phone, or a tablet of any kind. I have an old LG flip phone from 2004!....hehe
Still works perfect, and I have never dropped it! ; )
If I want to take a pic, I use my real camera. If I want to get on the net I use a computer.
My good old school life is very peaceful and simple! ; )
Oh! And I even shut off the Text feature on my LG phone! If you want to talk to me, you actually have to call me! ; )
Now stop trying to back up into me in the parking lots while texting....ya'll....! .....hehe
Those stats are very interesting Jalna. I had no idea.
That's why I go on the laptop to see your pics: )

I remember you mentioned that, Susan.
You're going to Japan again? Wow! Lucky you!
Can't wait, Kay!
Good idea. Someone I don't know just told me my pictures are too big in Safari. I might have to make my photos small too.
Erick, I use Safari on my Mac and your photos are okay. I just checked my iPad and your photos are good there too.
