I've tried growing pepper plants before but I've always failed. My friend Ryan even gave me several very healthy potted plants, and somehow I just couldn't keep them alive.
And yet, here I am trying again. Because I saw a YouTube video. I wanted to try the guy's method for sprouting seeds, and I wanted to do it with Hawaiian chili pepper.

The guy said to snip off the pointy tips.
You put the snipped seeds into a paper towel, dunk it into hot water, cold water, hot water, cold water several times. Then, supposedly in 10 hours the seeds would sprout.
It actually took about a week. But that was okay. I was just stoked that they sprouted.
Wish me luck! 🤗

Lot of work…hope it’ll grow into pepper producing plants.

also, you think they're not sprouting but maybe the birds are eating them if they're outside.
I also put plastic wrap over with holes poked in to create greenhouse until they've sprouted, but they are still susceptible to the birds.

Maybe in the past you took too much care of the chili pepper plants. I water once a day - if I remember and if I need more plants I just open up the dried chili pod and sprinkle the seeds in a pot of soil. They all come up as little plants and the hard part is deciding who gets to live and the rest are plucked out.
exciting! hope it works
I was just thinking of trying to grow Hawaiian chili peppers again! ~ Ryan
good luck. We tried growing Hawaiian chili pepper 🌶. Had one good crop. It hasn't produced since. I was able to make a couple bottles of chili pepper water.
🤞🏼
"pepper producing" is the goal.
And then after they sprout, there's disease and insects to deal with.
You're right. I probably fuss over them too much.
Me too!
Uuuuuuu!!
Thanks!! Congrats on the good crop! I can only wish.
Me too. 🤞🏻
