Butterfly

I missed it.

The cocoon turned black overnight and in the morning I set up my phone to try and catch the butterfly emerging.  But after filming for about 2 hours and with nothing happening, I decided to "quickly" use the phone.  😭

Well, hopefully I'll get another chance.  Even though the caterpillars ate up all the leaves on my crown flower plant, the leaves are growing back really fast.  🤞🏻

A new butterfly is so wonderful. It is a magical process.

my blood orange tree has not recovered from the caterpillars that we’re eating the leaves:( hoping it will get more leaves with warmer weather. glad your plant will have more leaves soon!

Following your butterfly project brought back memories growing up in Kaimuki...now I'm lucky to see a butterfly at all. Even then it was pretty cool watching and anticipating the process.

I see them more often now. Maybe the crown flower plant is attracting them.

There was a time we saw caterpillars on all our crown flower plants. Now there's very few plants here and no caterpillars on the plants there are.
