Security System

A few cars in our cul-de-sac got broken into, Wendell's included, so now we have three of these devices set up around our house.

Not only does it record any movement, but at night you'll be blasted with bright floodlights if you come near.  There's also a speaker so we can yell at the thief.

The brand is called Feit Electric. Wendell got it at Costco for $130 for each unit.  He chose this system because there is no monthly fee, and it's wired so he doesn't have to worry about replacing batteries.  You can monitor the cameras via any device that you download the app onto.  If you choose, you can be notified whenever the system detects any movement.  Wendell and Landon use their phones and I have it on my iPad.

We're liking it a lot so far.

I like everything about it except that it needs to be wired. I have the Ring at my front door now with batteries, but I just ordered the solar charger for it. And I started paying $30/year for the videos of the past because one day, my friend Wandaful brought 3 coconut desserts from To Thai For from the Kaiser Tuesday market. I put it on my dining table, closed the front door, and went next door to watch my little grandson.

When I got back home, there were only 2 desserts on the table. Hmmm. Did someone come in and take one of the coconut desserts? I checked the videos on the Ring app but it just showed "motion" and no video because my free trial subscription had run out. Right then and there, I bought the annual subscription so I could look back and see, but it only would capture and show the videos after subscription. Hmmm.

Who came in and took the dessert? Mystery was solved the next day. My always hungry daughter had eaten it on her way out to dinner that night. Who does that? She does, the pig.

Short story long. The Ring product doesn't have all the bells and whistles that your system has. But it is just right for me. And from now on, whenever something is missing, the first suspect is the pig.

Ooooh! I love it! Our son-in-law installed cameras all around our house and we have some inside the house too. I like yours because it lights up as well.

On Facebook, I am a member of Stolen Stuff Hawaii and today a post went up where mom and daughter interrupted a burglary in progress. He forced them into a closet, stole her car and tons of grandmother's precious jewelry and sentimental momentoes. As one poster said we are the prey, get not only cameras but alarm system. My truck's catalytic converter was stolen, by two separate thieves two weeks aparr. One at midnight, the 2nd at 3 am, my neighbor heard the saw but by the time he chases them they split. I just dropped comprehensive coverage too. Cost? $3000. I put in straight pipe instead for $400.

Aunty, so funny your story!

Kay, sounds good.

Kat, I hope so.

Anon, OMG, so traumatic. So sorry about what happened to your truck. All this stuff that's happening is maddening and frightening as well.

We just installed a security camera monitoring system too to our house. It's not as Hi-tech as your system. We're thinking of putting a fence around our property. Sad, that it has come to this. Funny, camera caught our neighbor on our property.

Cool, you can scare the low lifes away and record them too.
