Wendell's been into these peanuts lately. I think we're into our third can already.
Me and Landon like to eat them with kakimochi, so guess where I found myself yesterday.

Crack Seed Store!
He had a nice selection of kakimochi.
I got 1/2 pound of the mixed arare.
Just looking at this made my mouth water.
OMG
A lady who was in the store before me and a guy who came after me both bought this.
They also got this King Mui. They both said that it was really good so I got a 1/4 pound bag to try.
When Landon tasted it he said that it was probably the best he ever had . . . meaty and not too salty. He asked that if I go back to pick up three 1/4 pound bags and two of the li hing cherry for him to share.
I also bought a small 1/4 pound bag of this. I couldn't resist. It was ono.
The kakimochi turned out to be perfect . . . like before-time movie-theater kine.

As much as I love kakidani (spicy arare) with peanuts, it never dawned on me to mix these. Now I gotta try! I only mix kakidani with popcorn. My mom (herself) goes through cans of this peanut.She's always asking me or my sister to buy for her.

Oh boy, that's looks delicious. That combination, mix it with popcorn would be Ono at the movies. Thanks, I'll go there and look for the striped cuttlefish.

A couple of days ago we were at Sam’s Club and I saw Ii hing cherries. I told Art just looking at the package made my mouth water. Now I’m looking at your photos and my mouth is watering again... big time.

Wow! That guy is still there at da Kaimuki Crack Seed store? I've been going there since I was a kid! Then I took my kids there too! Da Bess Crack Seed Store in all of Hawaii.

Ohhh, i just started following him on Instagram and now I see it here. it's a sign! I must go! Have you had the kakimochi with li hing sauce? Sooo ono! I would save my $1 lunch money in high school to buy that instead. :)
If i still lived in kaimuki i would totally volunteer to keep his store running!
You know - he went to Kaimuki High School? Before our time - but not that much before. His kids all became super successful - doctors and such. I used to tell my kids that maybe they can take over but it is a lot of work and he has his system down so he can run the place by himself.
I wonder if his King Li Hing Mui is the one we had for my Starlie's graduation. Everybody really liked it and for months after they would go in and ask for Starlie's li hing mui and he would know exactly which one. Then, he was out of it for a long time.
The kids would get his kakimochi and he would put the wet li hing mui sauce on it in the package - SO sticky and messy but SO ono!
It will be very sad when he retires. Probably someone else will buy the place but it won't be the same - different touch, different ordering, etc.

Aunty, I wondered if he went to Kaimuki High School. The customer before me talked about another li hing mui that she preferred slightly over the King Mui, but she said he's usually out of it. I feel really sad too thinking about him retiring.
Man, a blast from the past in my old neighborhood. I took my wife there when we were "back home" a couple of years back and was surprised to see he was sill working!

duh, i shoulda checked your post before writng messasges...I love the king mui too. I got my sister addicted too....now she makes me buy it for her and send it to the mainland
