I have a deal with myself that whenever I get new dishware, I have to "goodwill" something of similar size. The bowl on the right is a recent acquisition. The two on the left went into the Goodwill box.
Nice! I am really into the Mari Kondo's "Life Changing Magic of Tidying." I mean really really into it. I used to think about doing the one new thing in and one old thing out but it was too much work for me and I would just buy what I wanted and forget about the other stuff.
However, after reading and listening to Mari's book MANY times (in my car), I began to take control. One of these days I shall do a post on it. I don't really follow her steps and skip around, but it is all coming together, slowly but surely. LOTS of trips to drop off Goodwill donations. Piles of things to give to people who might want my stuff. My bedroom floor is actually visible now (though I still have a ways to go).
One of her key points is to look at ALL the things that you have, and only keep and show, what you really love. Your blue new bowl is truly lovely.
I love blue! I love white too! I would have a hard time parting with any of those. Sigh...but purging is good. I should tell someone I know that when he buys a new pair of shoes he should get rid of two too!!
I know how you feel Jalna! I really need to start Purging! Here is my recent Craigslist ad to try and get rid of these "Cherry Blossom" dishes. I think Mom bought them at the Salvation Army way back in 2004. If I don't get any takers soon, they are going back to the Salvation Army!
I'm really picky now too when I go to garage sales. I really need to start moving more "stuffs" out of my house than I bring in! ; )
Here is my recent C~list ad for my Cherry Blossom dishes. I think they are rare now.
Kat, I've been packing my old clothes to wear when I travel. I toss them instead of bringing them home. That way I have more room in my suitcase for omiyage. LOL!!

That is a beautiful new bowl!!!
I'd have a hard time parting with those bowls on the left too.

Very good way to keep down the clutter. Very hard for me to do as I'm a packrat ;( lol
Thanks, Lorna!!
I know what you mean, Kay . . . especially since they might be "vintage". LOL.
Aunty, I've been trying to declutter too, but I take forever.
OMG, Susan . . . BASEBALL CAPS . . . they never, ever get thrown out (unless I secretly toss um).
Howzit, Susie!!

I do that with clothes, buy something new, get rid of something old.
Mark, they're so pretty!
