If you have an hour to spare and you find the inside makings of a watch fascinating, you should watch the following videos. If you only have 20 minutes to spare, then watch the first video. All three are amazing to me.
That is amazing, there are so many parts and they are so small. I know a guy who has a Rolex he has to get it serviced every 10 or so years for a cost of $750. I can't even afford the servicing. Ha ha
I stopped wearing my watch when I got my first cell phone in 2004. All cell phones have a clock. I remember the good old days though, when a watch was also a fashion statement. And every asked what kind your watch is. I have two watches. A divers Casio for my outdoor life, and a gold Seiko from my wedding in 1984. I wore my Seiko to work every day, I considered it my dress watch. Remember back in the day when it took so much time for you to pick just exactly the right new watch for you? And how important that was.
Mark, all my life I've only had one watch at a time. I would get a new one when the previous one broke. Wendell, on the other hand has almost filled up his new watch case . . . and it has 20 slots.

I was wondering how much the servicing costs, Erick!
