Ashol-Pan, Mongolian Eagle Huntress

I saw this photo online somewhere and was totally struck by the formidable appearance of the golden eagle.  I marveled at the bravery of falconry practitioners who use these eagles for hunting.

I then found another article, and especially marveled at 13-year-old huntress Ashol-Pan.  You can read more about her here:  BBC News.

Such beautiful raptors. I'd have to have one of them going after my cats (or me, for that matter)!

So beautiful, yah, Moki!

Lorna, I do believe that they could snatch a human being off the ground too!

Jalna, you continue to enrich my life with your blog as you continue to share such cool subjects such as this article and the link to this young Mongolian girl.

I noticed in the BBC.com link. There is: "Watch a clip - of Kazakh eagle hunters capturing a fox." You may have seen it - if not I am sure you will enjoy seeing it.
