I knew that some marbles fluoresce under black light and I wondered which of mine did. I ordered a black light flashlight from Amazon so that I could check um out.
Here are a few.
Whoa!
I got this bead at the swap meet awhile back. I suspected that it might be a vintage vaseline bead, but I wasn't sure. Vaseline beads also glow, so I was anxious to see if this one would.
It did!
We get the term "fluorescence" from this mineral. It's called a fluorite.
Whoa I never read your blog for a few days...Whoa is all I can say about da glowing marbles, flying saucers, band aid thumb with tabasco, folded thumb, buck teeth, meditating under water and ka Billion lights years.
Got sugar for mochi and started to make it but got sidetracked (for 2 days, no ask why). Ants found their way to da sugar gold mine. At least I neva blow up the micro (yet). Whoa.
Waibu, you totally crack me up!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! You so nuts!! Just like me. No kill da ants, k. Let them free.
Dean, the black light flashlight is cool. Small one . . . was only about $7.
Thanks Akemi. It was kinda hard. I had to hold the flashlight with my left hand and shoot with my right.
Kryptonite! That's a neat description, Shun Wah. I had to shoot the pictures when still had a little light and then underexpose them. Otherwise woulda been too hard to focus.
Mich, I like the colorful one you gave me the best. BTW, I still gotta give you back the marbles I don't want, but I'm having a hard time weeding them out. I'm keeping that one and that one and that one . . . except I don't need that one and that one and that one . . .

Cool a black light flashlight - wow it really brings out the colors - I bet you are even more happy with these beautiful marbles.
