Coworker Mark brought these spreads to share at work. He even made this sample platter just for me. So nice yah! I liked all the spreads, but the Cookie and Cocoa Almond combo was to die for!
I think this is sooo neat. Wonder if I can make one: Cinemagraph
Try out this Hearing Test. I majorly suck. I can only hear up to 10khz. Even Wendell did better than me . . . he claims he can hear up to 12khz. Coworker Michele got up to 15khz. Let me know how you do. I'm curious to find out if anyone can hear 18khz. I tried playing it at max volume and watched Kona to see his reaction. He got up from his nap and scratched his ear, so I think he could hear it.
Wendell adapted a recipe that he found here and made this some-ono fishcake last night. I even liked eating the leftovers today even though the crunch was gone from the crust.
1 pound fish paste
1 egg
1 tbs. oyster sauce
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 tsp. ginger, finely chopped
1 tsp. sesame oil
1/4 tsp. salt
2 stalks green onion, chopped
1/4 c. shredded carrots
1/4 c. cornstarch
1 to 1 1/2 c. panko
3 tbs. butter
3 tbs. olive oil
Hoisin Mayonnaise sauce:
1/3 c. mayonnaise
2 tbs. hoisin sauce
Combine first group of ingredients. Form patties and coat with panko. Fry in butter/olive oil. Serve with Hoisin Mayo sauce.
*The original recipe calls for cubed fish, but Wendell only used fish paste. He said that the paste was soft and the patties were not easy to form until he coated them in the panko.
Remember the time my sister's pottery class had a Raku firing and I went to take pictures? Well, a new pottery session just started yesterday so me and CQ decided to join. It'll be every Tuesday for 10 weeks. The teacher Barbara runs a veeeeery tight ship and rules are to be followed explicitly. Me and CQ kept screwing up (mostly me) so despite the scoldings, it was pretty hilarious . . . well maybe hilarious just to me and CQ . . . but you know how we are.
First CQ wrote "CQ" on a sign up sheet. Teacher said, "Give me a break . . . what's your real name?" Then when we went to get aprons for ourselves, we kept picking ones that belonged to other people and not the "for-share" ones. Then I cut my clay piece too small. Too late. Cannot do nothing. CQ talked to somebody while teacher was trying to explain something. Pay attention, CQ. I flattened my clay piece into something so misshapen that I think teacher gasped when she saw it. CQ didn't return her turntable to its proper place. I balled up my leftover clay instead of creating something with it. There's lots more I did wrong. In fact, I don't think I did anything right.
Here's my piece. I think I might paint it brown since it looks so much like a graham cracker.
Here's CQ's. So show-off yah.
Well, 9 more weeks to go. Wonder how many more graham cracker plates I'll make.
