Omiyage!

Jet lag in an older body is killah.  I've been back for 4 days, and I'm still getting up 2 hours later than usual and taking afternoon naps.

9 hours getting there and 7.5 hours coming back is brutal, especially if the ride is turbulent, but it's totally worth it.

I like eating the food in Japan and seeing the beautiful scenery, but my fave reason for going there is SHOPPING for food omiyage to bring back.  That's the most fun to me.

And so, between napping and playing with Kai, I finally managed to put together my omiyage giveaway box.  You can leave a comment here or email me at JalnaA@aol.com to enter.  I'll announce the winner in one week, next Tuesday 10/29/24.

Good luck!

J, best omiyage ever. Why the U.S. can't make such good stuff. Or carry it in the Japanese stores. I get you, I suffer from insomnia regularly and it takes 2 days to recover. I can't imagine the jet lag and all the physical activity too. Travelers our age are brave. Thanks again. N

💯 %. I know how you feel on the jetlag. For me,it's brutal returning home. Because we have to depart in the evening, plus the 6-7 hour flight snd Hawaii I'd a day behind, we are up for actually two days. From what I understand, every time zone you go through, it takes a day to recover. 9 hour flight to Japan is long, but the jetlag is not too bad, because I'm excited that we've arrived.

This particular tour was designed at the request of the seniors at Kahala Nui. Sweetie and I were the young ones and we could barely keep up with the kupuna!!

Probably won't be traveling so thanks for sharing your stories. Don Quixote seems to be adding a lot more Japanese product lines so I pick up ono treats occasionally. The Hokkaido milk castella has been consistently good. Would love to sample your give-away omiyage please! Li

Aw, I love shopping for food souvenirs too. No need to enter me because I'm in Canada and the shipping would be bananas! Hope to see some travel photos 😊
