Wendell's Jambalaya

Wendell made this a couple of weeks ago.  It calls for andouille sausage, but Wendell used some homemade sausage that he got from a friend and some portuguese sausage instead. Yummy!!

You can find the recipe here.

If I cook different kinds of food my hubby might not eat it, lol. I like to experiment with Korean jjigae and I don't think he's ever tried any of them : (

j: oh man, love me some jambalaya. One time a guy from New Orleans made us his momma's jambay. and hoo broke the mouth good, even if it was too spicy. Most of my friends couldn't eat it cuz of the spiciness and he's like this ain't spicy! I toned it down for you guys. I would eat, rest when it was burning my mouth, then would eat a little again...did that the whole night it was just that good. BTW, I found Didi's cookbook at the Library; they have a shelf for the Friends of Library and it's an honor system. They sell the donated books for sale on a small shelves and I buy a lot from that small area. I saw the cookbook a long time ago on her website. And so when I saw it today, I was like, S C O R E!! She had autographed it to someone named Carolyn. Thanks Didi, Carolyn. Oh and I went finally to This is It Bakery. They gotta tone down their customer service. NOT. They all habut. I went at 2:05 p.m., they stay sweeping and mopping already. Nevah have anything in the showcases if they do carry stuff in there other than sandwich stuff. Only bagels in big plastic bags. I got the hot pastrami, I wanted french fries but as pointed out on the board (like you dummy, can't you read?) their grill closes at 1 p.m. so they don't make french fries, burgers, etc. So got it with the potato salad. Yes, the pastrami - which they nuke in the microwave - was very good. But most of it was in the cut side so the back areas nevah have enuf. I opened it and moved it around by hand.Too bad they don't sell just the pastrami by the lb. The potato salad was too garlicky for me, and whatever spice they use in the sandwich...well 5 hours later, I'm still tasting it! - N

Susan, I suspect your husband is missing out.

N, I never go library for soooo long. Maybe I should go check it out. Somebody told me about the grouchiness of the people at This is It, but I had no problem the two times that I went. Long time ago, Wendell told me about this notoriously grouchy lady at Ethel's in Kalihi. I asked him to take me there. I wanted to witness her for myself. She was not bad to me. Only thing . . . she never asked us what we wanted to drink and just gave us fruit punch. I thought that was funny.
