Didi sent this email to us sistahs. I thought it was cute so I wanted to share.
I was at my favorite saimin place (U Choice Inn at Don Q’s) last month. Sitting in the next booth were 2 elderly women. I wondered if they were sisters and wondered whether or not we would be still going to lunch when we were that old……
I so enjoyed listening to their conversations about their day, washing clothes everyday, what they were going to make for dinner and kidding each other about how old they were and saying to each other, age doesn’t matter…one telling the other, why do you keep bringing it up. I found myself smiling all during their conversation. Then the older one mentions that she was supposed to go to a funeral that day, but her son told her “its okay if you don’t go, because its all the way in Kaimuki and she didn’t know where it was. When asked who the funeral was for, she said, her brother in law. The other gal asked her again, and she said it was her husband's brother. The gal then told her, “you supposed to go, he is your family." Anyway, it went on for a while…found out the older gal was 87 and the younger 84….
Last week, I found myself hankering for saimin….again…so there I was, and there were those gals. The booth behind them was open, so I rushed over….again, enjoying them kidding with each other…..AND THEN….the older gal says…."I was supposed to go to a funeral today, but my son said it’s okay if I don’t go, because its all the way in Kaimuki." HUH ???? and the younger one asks….who the funeral was for……she said it was her husband's brother…. they began to have the exact word for word conversation I heard last month……
I still enjoyed listening to them….they were so giggly….. ;o}

what a great post!
Haha, The last few years my mom was alive we would visit her every week, her memory wasn't that good, so she would tell me some of the same stories every week. In the beginning I used to tell her, you already told me last week, but in the the end I just listened. :)
That is hilarious! That is soooo gonna be me when I get old. Not gonna remember anything...
Cute yah, Kat.
My mom does that too Mich.
You can tell me the same story over and over 'cause I probably not going remember too Les.
Haha, great story. Man my dad does that but I just listen too.
So cute. I can see you talking to your sisters.
Yeah Susan, I like to listen to my mom, even if it's reruns. Hahaha.
Me too Erick!!
What a cute story!!! Thanks for sharing. My dad, too, repeats himself ... but like everyone else, I just listen. ;)
Actually Renee, I find myself repeating stuff too! Hahaha.
