Earlier this year I asked my siblings to send me a photo of their three favorite knives. You can check out that post here.
Based on my brother Cy's and my cousin V's choices, and mostly because the knife was staring me in the face at a Loft store in Tenjin, Hakata, I got this knife. It was actually the floor model, the last one. It was 10,000 yen, so around $70.

I love it. You can click on the photo below to watch a short video of the knife in action.

Wow! I need a knife like that!

J, no can beat a really good knife in the kitchen. A dull knife is dangerous and makes things harder. I am still dependent on that great cheap knife sharpener you blogged about. N
I think this is the brand that V buys in Roppongi
Whoa, so sharp! I use cheap knives and have fat tomato slices. Congrats on a great find!
There's a store called Aframes Tokyo in City Square that sells Japan knives. I haven't been there yet.
I love that knife sharpener!
She did comment about it.
I like to shop for scissors too!
I got a couple of Global knives and so stupid....don't want to use them because they're so sharp and want to keep it like that even though I bought the sharpener too. I even bought new epicurean cutting board because I read that it doesn't damage knives like plastic kind.

That knife is so sharp I'm really, really careful when I use it. And I'm like you with some art supplies. I'm reluctant to tear off the wrapper and use, and when I finally do they're dried up. LOL.
My favorite knife is a Henkels knife. I was gifted a Japanese knife this past Christmas. I should try it out.
