Landon really enjoyed this Beef Tongue from Mary's Mediterranean Kitchen in 99 Ranch. It was $11.50. It also came with pita bread. The pita bread looked good. The tongue grossed me out.
Landon and I must have similar eating faves. Beef tongue, brings back memories of our kid childhood. We were not rich, so mom made beef tongue sandwiches. just got to close the your eyes...ha.
j: I use to be a phobe against the guts/parts of a cow other than the choice cuts. But my mom made a mean tongue stew I had eaten all my life. It was the softest and tastiest stew I ever had. I managed to get tongue at Marukai - butcher told me only restaurants order it but he got a piece for me. Unfortunately mom never had a chance to make the stew...you gotta try it, when cooked right it's tender and now very popular. -N
Ew, grosses me out too. Grandma and Papa love tongue, they always get the lingua tacos. They also said Kam Bowl used to have a good tongue plate with Chinese spice.
ummm....and you ordered this because....has asked for it ?? we used to sell a lot a lot at the deli at Henrys Market in LHouse, back in the day, for sandwiches...

Erick, I thought you might like it.
Chet, we struggled back in the day too, but I don't recall my mom making any tongue dishes.
Susan, I've only tried it thinly sliced, yakiniku style and tasted like regular beef to me.
