I believe these pics were taken at the top of Wilhelmina Rise at that park were you can hike.
Those trees are Hawaiian Christmas trees. But the early explorers actually brought them here from New Zealand and they were originally New Zealand Christmas trees.

Whaaat, Mark? There's a park at the top of Wilhelmina Rise? Ooooooh. Gonna check it out online. Interesting fact about the trees! This park is at the top of St. Louis Heights . . . Wa'ahila Ridge Park.

OK! That's It Jalna! ....St. Louis Heights . Yes that's the park I was thinking of! I missed it by one mountain! I was trying to locate that park on a map last night but could not find it. It's so beautiful up there! In the good old days hardly anyone knew about that park. And it was never crowded.

Mark, so it is the park you were thinking of after all. I love that location to shoot pictures, but was scared to drive up that hill before. I feel confident with my Subaru which I got last year, and hope to do more picture taking there.

Yes that's the one I was thinking of Jalna. Don't be scared going back down the steep hill! Just put your car in Low Gear and let the engine slow you down as you coast downhill. This will also save your brakes. I did this all the time when I lived on top of Mariners Ridge and it worked very well. It takes a little longer to get down, but it gives you time to enjoy the view and slow your life down a bit! So no worries.
