I think it's called kochia and they said it helps to absorb some harmful metals in the sool. Mercury? <br />It was beautiful to see all these red plant balls all over the hillside.<br />Try google hitachi seaside park and you'll be amazed!<br />On other trips around japan, i see peole have a plant or 2 in their yards.
