Kulolo from Yama's Fish Market

I bought kulolo from Yama's Fish Market yesterday. It was so ono that all that was left this morning was this piece.

So I went back today. I was hoping that they hadn't sold out.

I found out that they don't bring it in from Kauai anymore, and for the past couple years have been making their own.

Hoo hoo!!  They make a fresh batch every Thursday and Friday. And once in awhile even on Saturdays.

Kulolo! Good but I wait for gau - which is going to be plentiful because of Chinese New Year soon. So ono and so unhealthy. But so satisfying.

I shall have to tell Art. He does like kulolo. I never really had it as a kid, but he sure did on the Big Island. Wait, is kulolo the same as gau?

Susan, awww too bad you don't have it there.

Kay, they look similar but are totally different.

Les, I like them both but if I had to choose it would be KULOLO!!!
