Planny flowers. That's what this Hokkaido Lavender Tour was all about . . . and it didn't disappoint. Although it did rain on a few days while we were there, it didn't rain on any of our flower-viewing days. Yay! I must apologize beforehand for my lack of photos. I realized while on this trip that I just don't have the stamina like before, and even though I took the tiniest camera I own, jet lag and age got the best of me, and taking photos often took a backseat. I haven't really seen all of my pictures yet. I'm only viewing them as I prepare them for this blog. Hope they'll be adequate. That being said, here goes. We had breakfast buffets on everyday of our tour. I am totally not a breakfast eater, and although there was a big selection to choose from this was the best I could do at 6:30 in the morning. The miso soup was really good. Rice was awesome everywhere, and I ate LOTS of it.
This is the bus that took us all over. Our first stop on this day was about 2 hours away.
This was at our rest stop.
There was a dog park there.
Cookie making class at Ryugetsu Sweetpia Garden.
On the road again.
Look da bee!
We all had the same thing for lunch. All I can say is the miso soup, salad and tsukemono were good. Oh, and the rice that was under the rather-not-too-tender pork was good too.

it is very important not to eat too big a breakfast or lunch when traveling in Japan so you have room to eat at least 1 or 2 soft serve ice cream-so many flavors! and mochi or manju that you come across, or fresh fruits! or kaki mochi or yaki imo or grilled corn on the cob or.... v
Beautiful pictures, beautiful Japan. I eat Korean side dishes (veggies) with rice and my hubby asks how I can eat like that. I have to agree with V! hahaha
j: I was thinking 'flowers????' but O M G they are absolutely gorgeous and nothing I have ever seen before. Wow oh wow. And even their bees are so different from ours. I'm not a breakfast eater too - I get super hungry one to two hours later so kinda junk that way. I'd bring a ziploc and dump it in for bumbye. lol. Now the walking part, no way can I walk so much. My stamina is going way way down these days and I realize I can't travel no more. Go everywhere you can girl - dats the only way! -N
I'm not a big breakfast person either. However, on trips to Asia, l love the morning buffets in the hotel, they're SO good. Plus, I pake, I got to get my monies worth...lol/
Susan, that's what I like to eat too . . . rice and side dishes.
N, I know what you mean. I chose this particular tour more for Cleta because she's very much into gardening . . . me, not so much. But the flowers and the parks proved to be sooooo beautiful and great fun to photograph. Food-wise, I get hungry about the same time as you. LOL.
Kat, so funny!
Les, I got real close to the bees for the shots, so they look bigger than they really are.
Thanks Mark.
Chet, hahahaha! I know what you mean. I force myself to eat from the breakfast buffet so that not po-ho.
