Yajima-ya

Wendell and I met a few of Wendell's friends at Yajima-ya for lunch yesterday. I've eaten from their truck years ago, but this was my first time in their restaurant.

They had a soup station with miso and chicken/vegetable soup. Both soups were good.

My Tempura ($15.50). Very oishiii!

Wendell's Daily Special Bento Box ($17.50). Wendell liked it a lot.

Here's my chopstick wrapper. I tried to be neater this time.

I would totally go back again . . . maybe for the butterfish.

j: wow your food looks a lot better than when I went --of course due to my seafood allergy can't eat shrimp. I ate the hamburg and it was too little for me....and the soups were nearly gone. That's why I avoid Japanese food cuz the portions are too small for me. The service there was pretty junk too...I vowed never to go there again, but the food was tasty.-N (thanks for the Cake Couture offer though!)

That looks wonderful, but I think our favorite is Maguroya. :- )

Aunty, yes, old Taco Bell. I forgot that that's what used to be there.

Izsmom, he really enjoyed it. We were surprised because it looked even better than the photo on the menu.

N, bummahs about the service, and yah, I did have two servings of soup to fill me up.

Kay, I still haven't tried Maguroya yet.

Susan, I going try origami wrapper next time. LOL.

Chet, I hope it's just as good when you try.

Mich, for real yah!

Kat, we all were very satisfied.

Mark, LOL!!

j: just wanted to let you know that Marukai is selling a delish deep fried mochi. OMG it's so good and pricey...$5.99 for only 3 small pieces but broke da mouth good. On the receipt it says "gorimochi assorted". The guy had two types - one was this mochi and another with apple in it. He must've really liked the apple cuz he kept going on about it, but I thought 'meh'. Never had mochi quite like that. I read in the paper that Daiso opened on Piikoi/Young St. Only 20 parking spaces though. I went to Daiso too - after trying to avoid it for a month. Left with $18.50 worth of stuff when I only wanted 2 stuff ($3). I even wanted to buy a mannequin head for $8! Then I thought but I don't have any hats, why would I want this. But I did but DID NOT buy. I still have SOME willpower! Gosh I love that place! -N

N! That mochi sounds so good . . . and the apple one . . . I'm intrigued. I just heard that the town Daiso opened. I'll drive by next week sometime and see if got parking. And you so funny!! Mannequin head!! Glad you didn't buy it! LOL.

J: just realized that the town daiso is a lot easier for me to get to vs. Pearl City. (AMC closeness!!) OMG OMG I'm in trouble...just gotta remembah: 20 parking spaces, 20 parking spaces. I am sadly, weak. I'll just 'check it out' - do a drive-by, dats wat I tell myself. yeah, yup, uh huh
