Kahai Street Kitchen Porchetta

This was a Daily Special so is not served everyday.

I'll let the description speak for itself . . . it was so ono.

Porchetta ($12.75), a hearty portion of slow-roasted pork belly roll stuffed with ground pork, herbs and mushrooms and sliced to order with sautéed Hamakua mushrooms and a mushroom wine demi-glace.

Oooooh, looks ono! Today I ordered the Kalua Pig loco moco without egg (cuz I am on that 90 day elimination diet and cannot have eggs). Had plenty kalua pig and wasn't on top of the rice, but was good!

Actually what I wanted was their hamburger loco moco but I had to meet someone and didn't want gravy stuff in the car. I had their hamburger steak one day and DAT was really good!

Almost EVERYTHING is good over there - except don't get their prime rib if it is a daily special. It's a "meh." Their kalbi is kinda too sweet for me, but in the Korean Cobb salad it is a winnah.

K, Aunty . . . I'm wondering . . . isn't Kalua Pig loco moco without egg and without gravy just Kalua Pig? Thanks for the tip about the prime rib. Will tell the carnivores in my family. My friend gets the brisket almost on a daily basis. He sent me a picture of the brisket and the BBQ Pulehu Ribs yesterday . . . both looked gooooood!

LOL, Kat.

Had to laugh, Jalna. Yep. Was just kalua pig. Had little bit green onions.

Les, you can check the Daily Specials online as well as the regular menu. And order ahead of time . . . they take long to make.

LOL, Aunty!!!

So ono, Kay.
