I like researching my watch finds. It's fun. And if they're not too bust-up, I like refurbishing and finding homes for them too. For now, this is what I found out about Franck Muller watches. The crown on authentic watches have a logo "FM" embossed on them like the watch below. My watch doesn't.
ALL of the authentic watches have a screw-on back. Mine doesn't. The inscriptions on real backs are carved into the metal. Mine is just stamped on.
And finally . . . the most tell-tale sign of a fake . . . Master is misspelled "Mastes" on my watch. I'm gonna open up the back later. I'll let you know how it goes.

such an emotional roller coaster, the highs and then the drop! But like betting, that's what it's all about!
Lorna, I found out that there's a watch repair shop about a minute away from my house. I called the guy to ask if he could repair the glass on a coworker's pocket watch that she inherited. He was really, really nice and gave me a rough quote. He said that he's really busy and is backlogged at least 2 weeks. I really want to go watch him in action. Maybe I should go and give him one bento or something, yah.
Funky looking watch yah, Chet. I would totally notice it if I saw somebody wearing one now.

You should work for a jeweler doing watch repairs, refurbishments, etc. You've gotten really good at this!
Good detective work. Nice knock off, till you actually research it.
Awwwwww shucks. Good detective work, though!
