Mexico Fiesta

Mexico Fiesta is near Safeway in Hawaii Kai. We ordered take out dinner from them the other night. My pictures are pretty sad, especially since taking the photos was an afterthought, but I wanted to share with you anyway.

Here's the Al Pastor Street Tacos (5/$17.00)

Shredded Chicken Flautas (2/$14.50)

Shredded Beef Taco Salad ($14.95)

The Yelp reviews are poor, but I think it's because they just opened  up in December and it took awhile for them to get their act together.  It's expensive, but I really liked it.

Wow, expensive alright ! But if it's good, cost not an issue! Mexican food is usually expensive anyway, at least it is here!

It does look kinda expensive but the scallops sound really good!

My favorite Mexican restaurant is Azteca in Kaimuki. Not just because we know the super nice owners, but also because their food is so delicious, too! It, too, is kinda expensive but it is authentically good stuff.

j: hoo da expensive! Like a sit down restaurant...and for Mexican food? Mexican to me is not high end. Wonder if they're going to survive??? -N

Mainthing is that you enjoyed. Seems pricey, the experience made it worth it. I love Mexican and Latin food. Tried Cuban food in Orlando, really good. Especially, the Cubano sandwich w/ cafe con lache (strong cuban coffee).

Sorry to be off topic: Were the Japanese crackers you liked called Mire crackers? If so they have them on sale at Marukai right now. Here's a link to the Marukai weekly ad: http://www.marukaihawaii.com/weeklyad/01312017_booklet/1/p02.html

Hope you get to try, Les.

Susan, I would order from there again.

Aunty, I haven't been to Azteca in ages.

I wonder if they'll survive too, N . . . especially with the junk Yelp reviews they got.

Chet, I don't think I've ever had Cuban food before.

Awww thanks, Kay.

I think so too, Kat.

Arlene, "Mire" doesn't sound familiar, but looking at the ad, it does look good.

If a Mexican food restaurant in San Diego had these kind of high prices, they would go out of business. It has to be the extremely high rent in Hawaii that causes these high prices.

It probably is yah, Mark.

Jalna. Here is my favorite Mexican food place in my small town of Poway, CA. (north county san diego). The two top items that I love are the $0.99 cent fish tacos (everyday all day long!). And the $1.80 carne asada taco! The carne asada taco is almost 1/2 pound of beef! Totally fills you up! Scroll down on this yelp review page and you will see pics of both. The owners know me because I am a regular and I get great hometown treatment!

I feel bad for you guys in Hawaii. Way over priced.

Have tried this place on two occasions and sad to say but Cha Cha Cha's is missed. Food is not tasty, and prices are too high. Menu was like a novel. Too many food options make it hard to master any. It is close to home and I wish it had good food to go with the great waterfront location. Sorry Jalna, I have a very different view of their cuisine, and most yelp reviewers agree it is not worth recommending.

Jim, my son agrees with you, and we haven't gone back. And yes, too bad 'cause it's close to my home too.
